The residential hotel apartment tower in Danet, Abu Dhabi consists of 4 levels of basements, ground floor, mezzanine floor, 17 storey plus roof level. The concept for this 22 story serviced apartments tower was developed using a holistic design process that aims to create a visually distinctive design that is functional, cost effective, sustainable and marketable. The massing concept for this option is to create a very simple and functional building that has a distinctive and recognizable image. This was achieved by creating accent elements that frame portions of the building.  The primary accent would be viewed from the interior of the Danet Abu Dhabi development and a complementary form would be located at the North-East corner of the building at the entrance to the development. The accent features are enhanced at night by allowing light from the interior of the building to “glow” around portions of the building and creating a sense that a large portion of the building is “floating” above the podium One of the most attractive features of this plot is that is has access from three sides of the plot. RW Armstrong has capitalized on this on the ground floor by providing street front retail on all three sides with easy access. Construction completed in 2013.
