RW Armstrong conducted a peer review of Phase 1 of the detailed master plan report for the Prince Abulaziz Bin Mosaad Economic City (PABMEC), a 156 km² master planned city located in the northern portion of the Kingdom. PABMEC, offering a multitude of road, rail and air interconnectivities, is located 600 km north of Riyadh and is one of six planned Economic Cities to be developed throughout Saudi Arabia.
Prince Abdulaziz Bin Mousaed Economic City is envisioned as a thriving modern city, with a strong base in transportation and logistics driving agro-industrial, construction material and other economic activities.
RW Armstrong worked closely with SAGIA staff in workshops on-site to provide complete and detailed review, a full report and recommendations toward the approval of the development master plan.
The report provided preliminary recommendations for conformance of design in relation to proposed airport, population projections and market analysis assumptions, sanitary sewer system and treated sewage effluent recovery system, district cooling system, potable water distribution system, storm water management system, traffic and road circulation, electrical distribution system and communication infrastructure, solid waste management, land use, district controls, densities, open space ratios, and sustainability factors, health care and educational needs assumptions and pedestrian accessibility and street lighting.
