RW ARMSTRONG ROLE // Review of full master plan and recommendation for governmental approval
DETAILS // Major master planned city
RW Armstrong conducted a peer review of a neighborhood plan called N027 Residential Neighborhood and the master plan and development control review for the Knowledge Economic City (KEC).
KEC is an 864 hectare city, located east of central Madinah. KEC has been planned to provide new services and facilities for more than 200,000 residents and includes such features as a university, 8,000 capacity mosque, and central train station for residents of KEC and the adjacent Madinah. KEC encompasses residential areas of various heights supported by a comprehensive smart control system. It has 538 elegant villas and 30,000 modern residential units designed in sync with the Madinah's architecture. In addition to supporting a sophisticated lifestyle, the city has the serenity, spirituality and knowledge that people seek; hence providing them with ultimate peace of mind. KEC also has vast green areas, spacious playgrounds for children, parks for families as well as restaurants and cafes
RW Armstrong acted on behalf of SAGIA and worked with KEC staff to review the various master plans and provided approval recommendations for these plans.
RW Armstrong’s role was to review the documents developed by the master developer with the goal of constructive final updates, and then provide the third party recommendation to KEC for approval by the Economic City Authority (ECA).
