RW Armstrong provided project management services for Modern Residential City development, located on a plot area of 193,334 sq.m. with a capacity of 25,000 residents in four clusters of buildings, and a core combining the central facilities.

Each of the four clusters contains three categories of housing for workers, technicians and supervisors and cluster has a capacity for 6,250 residents. The clusters are planned around a plaza that incorporates those elements used daily by a resident such as a restaurant, laundry, current needs shops, toilets and coffee shops. The cluster restaurant roof is designed to accommodate Muslim’s collective prayers. The roof area is environmentally protected by tent unit covers at all times and cooled air curtains draft during the summer time.

As the lead consultant, RW Armstrong’s Abu Dhabi office is man­aging the development of the project by the architecture and engineering firm. Given the tight schedule and the offices involved, cutting edge technology and document management systems were implemented to facilitate the program.

RW Armstrong was also appointed to manage this project from design and de­velop­ment through to construc­tion administration.
