DETAILS // Analysis and proposal with detailed design of best path for new connector road between new and exisitng terminals. Interface with existing utilities, topography, OLS and ILS requirements. Handles passenger busses, Fuel trucks, baggage vehicles, fire rescue vehicles.
The WASR is required by ADAC to provide an alternative secondary road connection between the MTB and Southside Terminals. The primary road connection between the MTB and the Southside Terminals follows an airside route through tunnels under taxiways and the Southern Runway. The tunnel under the Southern Runway is known as the Midfield Airside Road Tunnel (MART).
The WASR will be the used by Ground Service Equipment (GSE) and occasionally by in-flight catering vehicles, cargo tugs, baggage carts etc. Fuel Bowsers will also use the WASR due to safety restrictions of the existing fire suppression system. However, fuel delivery to aircraft on the MTB stands is primarily by means of an underground fuel system.
