RW ARMSTRONG ROLE // Concept Design Architect
DETAILS // The project is a 57,000m2 mixed used development comprising of Residential Apartments, Hotel Apartments, Retail spaces and Recreational facilities.
RW Armstrong provided Concept Design services for a new mixed-use development to be located in Dubai Maritime City, 10 minutes from AI Mina Dry docks World Dubai via Jumeirah road. The design is based on the Desert Rose, a very unique object formed in Coastal Sabkhas of the UAE. The Desert Rose occurs when crystals form in arid sandy conditions, such as the evaporation of a flooded Sabkha. The crystals form a circular array of flat plates, giving the rock a shape similar to a rose blossom. RWA developed a modular strategy for the facade of the building utilizing the unique cellular shape of the Desert Rose. The varied uses of the tower include Hospitality and Residential with shared amenities within the podium structure. Each with an independent address and arrival experience.
