DETAILS // The solar farm consists of 66 floating, semi-submersible frames, each equipped with 84 solar panels.
A 2.4 MW floating solar farm project in the Maldives, is a groundbreaking initiative designed to reduce the resort’s reliance on diesel fuel for electricity generation. As the project management consultant, we provided expert oversight and coordination throughout the entire process, ensuring the project’s success.
The solar farm consists of 66 floating, semi-submersible frames, each equipped with 84 solar panels. These frames are securely tethered to screw anchors in the seabed to ensure stability.
Underwater cables connect each frame to an offshore platform, where the energy is consolidated and transmitted via further underwater cabling to the resort’s main powerhouse.
By harnessing the power of the sun, this floating solar farm not only contributes to a more sustainable energy future but also helps the resort reduce its carbon footprint and energy costs. Our team’s involvement in project management, from planning to execution, played a vital role in delivering this cutting-edge solution.
